Malina has grown up into an interesting environment. She’s been called a little miracle since as long as she can remember, and yet, the girl is incredibly humble. See, her parents had her late – like, really, really late in their lives. Both of her parents were in their mid-to-late fifties when they received the news that Mrs. Czarnecki was pregnant. They were so pleasantly surprised, trying to years to successfully have a child, that to them, Malina was a miracle. Their little miracle. You can imagine how much love and affection and attention was given to the young girl.

Luckily for Malina that while she was doted on, she was never spoiled. She was loved, there was no question about that, but both of her parents understood the value of working for the things you wanted. Hard work was an important aspect in the Czarnecki house hold. So everything she has in her possession has been earned (with a few exceptions when it came to birthdays). The now “old fashion” way her parents had grown up on had been taught and nurtured into the girl and she grew up into a lovely young lady.

She was a delighted girl. She was rarely in a bad mood, usually cheerful or serene. Her smiles were small, but they were expressed through her eyes. A lot of Malina’s emotions could be read almost entirely in her eyes. She was a happy person, but a bit shy and quiet in her mannerisms. Only those who took the time to get to know her learned how to read her. Of the few very close friends she had, once she was comfortable with them, Malina showcased that she had confidence in herself. She always stood up for what she believed in – to the point of being called stubborn. She listened well to others, but it took coaxing for her to verbally express her feelings. Malina can debate with the best of them, but try to get her actually discuss her emotional state? She clams right up. It’s the reason why only those who can read her without her saying a thing care about her. To the rest of the world she’s this whimsical girl whose is never sad or angry. Not true, she just doesn’t express it as well as others can.

But, Malina has never worried about such things. The most important people in her life – her parents and her Digimon partner – could understand her perfectly, and that was all that mattered at the end of the day.

Digimon Partner:

Malina met Phasmamon when her father had taken ill and spent months in the hospital. This ghost Digimon had taken to haunting the halls, roof, and particularly the basement of the place. It scared away all those who ran into the ghost, until Malina. Phasmamon was just lost, and lonely, somehow getting to the human world but had no way of getting back to the Digital World. Even though this Digimon didn’t communicate with words (its mouth was sewn mostly shut), Malina figured the creature out, forming a quick friendship with no trouble at all. They kept each other company and comforted the other as Malina’s waited at the bed side of her father and Phasmamon fought away its loneliness. For the months her father was ill, whenever Malina frequented the hospital Phasmamon took to following the girl around.

When Mr. Czarnecki made a full recovering, their wonderful friendship was in danger. After all, Phasmamon never left the hospital grounds. But, on the last day Malina was there, the little Digimon didn’t want to be parted from the only person who staved off the loneliness. So, it followed Malina out the hospital. Once it finally left the property, detached itself from the hospital holding it back, did a Shard of Kindness appeared and consummated their partnership. Some time later, the pair travelled to Japan so that Phasmamon could finally have the chance to return to the Digital World. (As much as Malina made living in the real special, Phasmamon would always prefer the Digital World over it – for whatever the reasons.)

Phasmamon is a lot like Malina. It’s a quiet creature – and not just because its mouth is incapable of speech – and rather shy. It wants to make friends and not be alone, but it has a terrible way of approaching others – usually in resulting in terrifying them or creeping them out. The ghost doesn’t mean to most of the time, but it does have the tendency to lurk about in frightening ways. Luckily for Phasmamon, Malina had always loved horror stories and ghosts, and had actually gotten a kick out of being haunted by the Digimon. Phasmamon is so grateful to Malina for this that the creature has become rather over-protective of the girl, in which it scares even more people away with its attempt to protect her. Malina understands the sentiment behind the actions, and has no qualms over it (after all, if someone couldn’t handle being around Phasmamon – her partner and closest friend – then why would she become friends with them?). Also, even though Phasmamon does not speak, Malina and the Digimon still are able to communicate perfectly. Malina had once tried to explain this connection, saying that telepathy was the closest thing she could think that relates to it. It’s just that, whenever Malina looks at Phasmamon (or vice-versa), she just knows what the ghost is saying – feeling. It makes for an interesting thing to watch, the seemingly one-sided conversation. Still, it works for them.
